I’ll Shave My C*nt For This

A pussy pump with a clear plastic cup and a black pump tubeI’ve always been fascinated by pussy pumps in porn videos; specifically the way the increased blood flow causes everything to swell up; becoming larger and more sensitive even after removing the pump. This fascination has made me perpetually curious about trying one, but I never got around to it because the large majority of the pussy pumps on the market look like they’d be too small to fit over my labia (pro tip – make sure to measure carefully before purchasing!). The Fetish Fantasy High Intensity pussy pump caught my eye due to the larger cup – measuring 5.25″ by 3″ – which made me think that it might actually work on my body.

It comes in two parts in the box; the tube with the attached pump, and the plastic vulva cup, which is curved at both ends in attempt to create a more comfortable seal. The tube itself is comprised of three parts (assembled prior to delivery) – the tube, the quick-release valve, and the actual pump. Thanks to the valve, you can instantly deflate the suction if things don’t feel good to you.

Note: for post-menopausal folks, and people on testosterone, the skin of their vulva may be more prone to tear. I’ve read that this is compounded while pumping, and thus the risk of tearing may be even greater while using a pussy pump. I haven’t been able to confirm this, but it makes sense to me. Be careful not to over pump, especially in the beginning – pumping shouldn’t hurt!

Once assembled, I got down to actually testing the Fetish Fantasy pump, which required me to begrudgingly shave my vulva, something I dislike doing on myself (and frankly the upkeep is more hassle than I’m typically willing to do). I initially tried it out both with and without lube before having shaved, hoping that I’d be able to get a seal, but this was ultimately unsuccessful. Your mileage may vary here, depending on the shape of your vulva and how much pubic hair you have, but be prepared to shave if need be.

Even after I shaved, it took a little bit of manoeuvring to get the pussy pump‘s cup in the right spot on my body –  I found it worked best when I was lying in a specific position on my back with my legs up, bent at the knees, and if I shifted too much, I would lose the seal. I have to hold the cup firmly against my skin to get the suction to work right (which is slightly uncomfortable against my public bone), but once the suction has started, I’m able to relax my hold. The more pubic hair I have while using it, the more finicky the seal obviously is; when I’ve only trimmed my hair, the suction isn’t super consistent and I have to keep squeezing the pump fairly regularly in order to maintain the same level of suction, whereas when I’ve fully shaved the suction is stable.

When pumped, I definitely felt an increase in sensitivity and wetness which, while expected, I found interesting as I normally don’t get wet without some sort of visual/auditory stimulation, which I didn’t have while testing the pump. It created arousal for me instead of simply heightening existing arousal like I expected it to.

I enjoyed the visual of my vulva becoming engorged as I pumped, and the increased sensation it provided, but when I removed the pussy pump from my skin, the suction immediately went away and my vulva reverted back to its normal size. The fact that it didn’t maintain size was a disappointment to me, as I’ve definitely fetishized the enlarged vulva as seen in porn, and wanted to know what it felt like to receive penetration or use a vibrator while engorged like that. Not only could I not remove the cup, but the only ways the suction doesn’t dissipate is if you leave everything attached or remove only the pump (leaving the tube and the valve attached to the cup), and I’m not really sure why you would want to do that. I’d like to test out a model that works differently in this regard (like the pump that Betty Butch reviewed) to see if that increases my enjoyment of the product.

A pussy pump's pump with a quick release valveThe tubing itself is my biggest issue with the product; as mentioned, it can come apart in three places, and there were a few times as I was fumbling with it mid-use where I would pull a little too firmly or jostle it the wrong way, and part of the tube would come apart from the rest, usually resulting in the suction releasing. It isn’t the highest quality pussy pump on the market, and so you should be deliberate while handling it during use so that it doesn’t accidentally disconnect partway through.

My favourite sensation was the feeling of squeezing and releasing the pump over the feeling of simply having an enlarged vulva, and found myself frequently releasing the valve a little bit in order to pump again. I’m not convinced that I experienced any heightened sensitivity once I removed the pump – even immediately after – but it’s hard to tell. I did find that my orgasms came faster after using the pump, but I think that was more due to the stimulation when the pump was in use than any change in stimulation after I removed it.

I’m not sure if this model can give you any sustained swelling after removing the suction, but I was unable to achieve it when using the pump for up to 30 minutes at a time.

Overall? This was a decent introduction to pumping. It taught me that I’m definitely a fan of the sensations, and that I may want to invest in a higher-quality device in the future, especially as I’m curious about pumping in a way that would sustain swelling after the pump is removed. I’d also like to try out a clit-specific pump, and maybe some nipple ones. If you aren’t looking for sustained swelling, or are curious about pumping but uncertain if it’s for you, this may be a good product for you to check out.
