Double Ended Textured Sensual Glass Dildo

I am intense about textures. The only time I tried acid was with a guy I was hooking up with. We ended up having sex, mostly because I was so freaked out by the texture of his clothing (wool shirt and corduroy pants) that I made him strip. Then I wouldn’t kiss him because thinking about tongues made my skin crawl. Normally my texture preferences aren’t quite so pronounced, but there are textures that make me very uncomfortable and others that instantly soothe me.

With that in mind, I doubt it’ll come as a surprise that when Lovehoney offered to send me a toy for an honest review, I picked the Double Ended Textured Sensual Glass Dildo, but did so with a bit of trepidation.

What I love about glass toys specifically is that they frequently have multiple textures on them, like this one does. This is a relief to me because I’m always worried that if I get a textured toy without having held it first, it may end up being like that wool sweater, and multiple textures means there’s a higher chance I can use part of it.

The toy is 10.5″ long, but each of the textured parts are just over 4″ which means that when I’m using the toy vaginally ¹, I end up feeling all of one half and then the start of the other texture as well, which is a little weird. I’ve used toys with multiple textures before but never a toy where I feel so much of the one texture and so little of the other.

I found myself trying to not put the Double Ended Textured Sensual Glass Dildo so far into me that both textures would be inside me at the same time. But, as is the case whenever I masturbate, I end up getting excited, then thrust a little bit more energetically and there’s the second texture in me again. Then I tried putting it further inside to get enough of the second texture that it wouldn’t feel weird. This also didn’t work because, well, my vagina is only so deep.

I wish that there was either another couple inches of each texture or else a couple inch gap in the middle without any texture. It’s also a little bit thinner than I prefer – having a circumference of 4.25″ instead of my preferred 5″.

It comes with a velvet carrying case which I normally hate as fuzz gets all over the toy but the Double Ended Textured Sensual Glass Dildo comes wrapped in several layers of a styrofoam-like material which not only helps keep the toy safe but also keeps the velvet from shedding onto it. I’m still not thrilled by the velvet, but it isn’t as bad as it would be without the styrofoam or with a different material of toy (lint doesn’t cling to glass as it does silicone).

Do I recommend this toy? Eh, it’s fine. It costs $30 CAD from Lovehoney, which is a great price, but I’m super indifferent to it, personally. I don’t think I’ll use it again after reviewing it. If you prefer shallower insertions, maybe this toy is better suited for you than it is me! Also, the name annoys the hell out of me, though that’s obviously not something to impact your choice to buy it.
